Featured Brand: The Nude Label
Established: 2014
Located: Valencia, Spain
Style: Simple, Natural, Pure
About:
Clara Ropero and Ana Alemany first met studying fashion design in Valencia, Spain. In 2014 they created The Nude Label because they wanted underwear that would feel like a second skin. Their goal was to create a basic underwear brand that had the least environmental impact possible. Their materials are locally sourced in Mataro, a town close to Barcelona, and made in a local factory in Valencia, owned by Alemany’s family. The designers use friends and non-models in their lookbooks and campaigns, because they want their customers to embrace self-acceptance — and they refrain from using pads or underwires in their pieces for comfort. Their underwear is refreshingly simple with a neutral color palette, like a triangle mesh bra with a front cut-out. “For us, it is very important to do everything in an ethical way,” Alemany said. “It shouldn’t be remarkable, but sadly it is, as bigger corporations are just caring about sales.”
